What happened to the tail-end unit, 6442? Was it set out somewhere?
The train will need two units if half of it is to become tomorrow's

I distinctly remember the tail end unit rumbling away as it left town.

Doug's speculation was correct. The same consist came
through Port Hope as #48 at 19:44.

It's interesting that they wyed the train in Windsor,
instead of just running it east as #76 and #48 with 6442
leading. I suppose they want the HEP2 cars on the rear
so they can be left in Kingston to become #651, but if
#71 had been made up in Toronto with the HEP2 cars leading,
then they would have been trailing on #76 and #48, with
no wying in Windsor.

Three minutes after #48, #67 passed through Port Hope.
6408 and five LRC cars.

The rear half of #48, which was a run-through of #76. There
was no #650 yesterday, because of the holiday. The engine
and cars in question were equipment to become today's #651.

Problems apparently continued this morning, as #651 was 29 min
late leaving Kingston, and 24 min late out of Oshawa, according
to the VIA web site. On-time performance of #651 is usually better
than that. It can often make up some time between Oshawa and
Toronto.
