Sorry for the lack of advance notice, but I just found out about
this today. <http://www.grapesforhumanity.com/?p=599> says that
a "private train" is running from Toronto to somewhere in Niagara
today, with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of the rock band Rush.

they're on #97 to St. Catharines. That train is the VIA/Amtrak
Maple Leaf, and normally uses Amtrak rolling stock. But that
tweet includes a photo of Lifeson and Lee (I guess -- I wouldn't
recognize them) in front of a VIA P42 909 at Toronto Union
Station.

shows the line number display from inside a VIA (not Amtrak) car,
and implies (without quite saying so) that it was the car
carrying Lifeson and Lee.
The Grapes for Humanity page says that departure from Toronto
was to be at 09:00, while the VIA train status page says that
#97 left on time at 08:20. That suggests there was an extra
train, but I don't know for sure. Further information welcome,
especially from anyone who sees this train.
