It should be noted that currently Southern Railway running on the BC Hydro line, CN, BNSF and all the passenger trains Amtrak, VIA, Rocky all use this bridge to access Vancouver.

It was built in 1904 and the Pattullo Bridge in 1937 and both are in very bad shape on the same railway base in the river from when it was built.
Vancouver area is long over due for a major earth quake so they say.
Amtrak might be forced to use the Scott Road Skytrain station if there is an earthquake either bridge is not expected to survive a major earth quake.
If it does get knocked out the only other bridge on the Fraser is the Mission rail bridge a considerable distance away.
