Thanks for those up-to-the-minute/chaud sorti des presses consists. Hope you had a good trip. Yes, there are VIAphiles and UberVIAphiles, but I'm not sure what term suitably describes a bus/train enthusiast.

You'll be interested to know that I've just passed my first anniversary riding Kingston Transit's Kingston Express west-end express loop, inaugurated Sept 3, 2013.

The specially-painted Xcelsiors whisk me to work and back, and as the Buffalo transit TV commercial proudly proclaims "70% of the people on our bus have jobs".

Congratulations ! That's the way to get around. Good initiatives with transit planners can get us out of our cars. When it's practical.

Let me add these stats :

Passenger Total------Via # 601 Northbound Montreal to Jonquiere Wed. Sept. 24----------7 ( ! ) crew included

Thursday Sept.25 2014----------Via # 600----------------6402 + 8146-8619

Chambord Qc ar 09:12 lv 09:21 ( 5 bike boxes were loaded )

For those who follow the comings and goings of rare Classic Nova buses. Two of them still operate for the STS in Saguenay # s 9401 & 9601. One bus driver came out to say...." prendre tes portraits maintenant. ça achevre i.e. they'll be gone soon.

An Autobus Intercar Wi Fi -TV screen equipped ( ! ) MCI # 1470 got us to Quebec City from Saguenay leaving at 17:40 arriving at 20:00. It was pleasant ride.

On a personal note our destination was the Village Historique De Val Jalbert in Chambord ( Qc ) Renowned for it's partially restored ghost town and former pulp mill adjacent to water falls higher than Niagara hiking trails compliment this natural treasure.

Via fares go for $59.- or less one way from Montreal to Jonquiere. 601-600's Friday-Sunday schedule coupled with inexpensive weekend car rental rates make the region very affordable.
