along with the railroad name and predecessor railroads. It provides a
fast way of finding what cities were served by what railroad, and on what
line. Fergusson has conveniently divided the lists by geographic area:
country, and by state for the US. In some cases, he has provided listings
for large cities as a standalone topic: Chicago is an example. <br><br>

Many/most of the station stops are long gone, but the detail is
fascinating. For example, you will find depot names (ever heard of the
Clay Street Depot in Montgomery, AL?), Junction points, predecessor
railroads, ferry crossings, yard names, shops, and more.<br><br>

I live in Louisville, KY (although only for the last 8 years). I was
fascinated by all of the historic junctions, and stations found in this
city-it's a lot more than I realized.<br><br>

Canada), and for certain large cities: Chicago is an example.<br><br>
