This video shows views of VIA's Maintenance Centre and coach yards
adjacent to Halifax Station taken on various days in 1992.
At that time the HEP car rebuilding programme was in full swing and many
stainless steel cars had been purchased from Amtrak and other US railroads.
Several of these were stripped and had asbestos removed in the Halifax
yards. There was also an electrically operated turntable for turning
coaches and this is seen in several of the clips.
The upper yards are now an employee parking lot and after VIA abandoned
its Maintenance Centre it was used as a bus depot and then a movie studio.

The video can be seen at

Enjoy.
