I was on board a westward GO train Saturday afternoon (Oct 11),
when we were overtaken by a westward VIA J-train at Ajax at 16:55.
Eastward J-trains from Toronto to Brockville are standard procedure
in the mornings, but there are normally no westward J-trains. My
thought at the time was that one train had broken down and had been
rescued by another train, but I don't see any sign on VIA's arrival
status web page of such a happening. The train I saw must have been
Ottawa - Toronto #47, but I don't see any indication that any other
train experienced major problems and had to be towed.
Does anybody know why #47 would be operating as a J-train? Both
halves were LRC, but I didn't get an exact consist.
